Hinweise zur angegebenen Lebensdauer:

Die Lebensdauer eine Bildtrommel wird i.d.R. in einer Seitenleistung angegeben. Während einige Hersteller tatsächlich die Anzahl gedruckter Seiten mit Ihrer Trommel zählen (der Zähler muss manuell nach einem Austausch der Trommel resettet werden), geben Andere nur eine prozentuale Lebensdauer dieses Bauteils an. Sollte sich die Qualität Ihrer Ausdrucke verschlechtern, so wäre dies das erste Teil bei dem man an Ersatz denken sollte.

kompatible Bildtrommeln
Hier handelt es sich um einen industriellen Trommelnachbau. Der Klon sieht dem Original sehr ähnlich, unterscheidet sich jedoch möglicherweise in Details. Die Drittanbieter sprechen in diesem Fall von „kompatibler“ oder „remanufactured“ Patrone“. Sie ist legal, da sie entweder keine Herstellerpatente verletzt oder etwaige Gebühren entrichtet werden. Für sehr günstige Eins-zu-Eins-Klone gilt das nicht. Sie erreichen den niedrigen Preis nur, indem sie Patente ignorieren.

Originale Bildtrommeln
Diese Patronen werden auch OEM-Trommel (Original Equipment Manufacturer) genannt und stammt vom Hersteller, bzw. wurde unter Herstellerlizenz produziert. Er garantiert, dass das Produkt auf das jeweilige Druckermodell exakt abgestimmt ist. Das umfasst neben der Druckqualität auch die Kommunikation mit dem Drucker. So darf es keine Probleme mit der Chiperkennung und der Tintenstandsanzeige geben.
